Dear all,

On 4 September, the Consultation Period for all BCC employees started. Current insights, further preliminary plans and the inevitable decisions resulting from this were shared with all colleagues present during a meeting on 4 September. An appeal was also made to all employees to give their advice on the intended decision to send some 55 employees worldwide, of whom 7 in the United States, on furlough. This appeal was also made to employees who could not be present. The period during which this advice is requested is called the Consultation Period and lasts until 9 September, 5:00 pm local time.

On this specially created web page you can read and download the information package that was sent by email shortly after the meeting on 4 September. The information package forms the basis for everyone to give advice during this period. Please read the documents carefully and - if you wish - respond to them. However, this is not necessary. Questions about the documents can be submitted to the email address PRPL@bcc-miami.com and/or asked during the Starleaf meetings with Nick Blom.

The reason why

The entire world population has been confronted with COVID-19. Everything changed at a stroke. At first there was a time of great uncertainty around health, after which the economic consequences increasingly became visible worldwide.
In a very short time, Bolidt's favourable prospects disappeared like snow in summer, and EUR 35 of our EUR 100 million turnover evaporated. Immediately after the outbreak of the pandemic, we already lost more than a hundred jobs abroad, where work came to a sudden halt.
The turnover forecast for 2021 unfortunately looks less good than 2020. Despite all the cost savings we have made, despite all the Lean & Learn improvement initiatives and despite the discontinuation of investments that yield little returns in the short term, I have come to the inevitable and painful insight that drastic measures must also be taken in the human resources area.
We are forced to send 7 jobs in Miami on furlough. If we don't, this will endanger the future of the entire company and therefore all jobs.

We must find a way to adapt to the new reality in order to become a healthy and vibrant company again.
