Unlocking AREA78: IMD Raadgevende Ingenieurs

The construction of our Experience & Innovation Center was a real challenge. IMD played a crucial role as construction advisers and have been actively involved from the very beginning as our dedicated construction partner. They ensure that Lüchinger Architects and RoosRos Architects have realized their vision for our new building.

IMD Advisory Engineers worked with our other renowned construction partners to achieve optimal integration between aesthetics and support structure. By integrating the main support structure with architectural design, they’ve created an uncluttered steel construction which contributes to the design. 

The building includes unique construction elements such as the partially curved steel structure and the large central span of 16 meters. Transparency and open views are key elements in the design of the Experience Center, IMD made these possible by creating large column-free areas and the inspirational use of glass to give the feel of large open spaces.
