Meat and fish industry

Butchers. Chicken, beef, lamb. Boning, meat processing. Sausages. Fish market, auction, market halls. Smokehouse. Eel, mackerel. Pickled herring. The corrosive effects of salts, acids. Crates, trays full of ice, continuously wet. Cold stores and freezing chambers. Antiskid flooring. Easy to clean. Fat, blood, faeces. Hygiene. Floors without cracks, totally smooth. No pores. Skidproof, resistant to mechanical stress. A finish that neither absorbs nor lets through any moisture. HACCP.

HACCP: food and hygiene; two halves of a whole. The requirements for maintenance: the use of high-pressure spray-guns, cleaning agents, in short anything required to get the floor clean and keep it clean is important. Hygiene also has to be seen in relation to safety, certainly in the meat and fish processing industry where part of the work is still done manually as in the case of boning, filleting and slicing.

Floors have specific functions in each stage of meat processing. During unloading and distribution to the waiting area, on the slaughter platforms, in the cutting room, when carving hams or fine cutlets, in the sausage-making room or the cold meats section, in and around the cold storage rooms, in the cutting room where, at tables, the residual products are divided into containers and transported by conveyor belt. For this purpose Bolidt has seamless, strong and anti-slip floors. During preservation, when acids, salts and flavourings are added, Bolidtop synthetic floors are resistant. In the packaging departments and in the dispatch areas, where forklift trucks are driven and pallets are pushed around, Bolidtop floors are wear-resistant. Bolidtop floors are sturdy, wear-resistant, anti-slip and well resistant to mechanical loads. Because acids and salts are used, the Bolidt synthetic floors also have to meet requirements such as impermeability, pore density and resistance to chemicals.

For every question, a specific floor solution.

Many different flooring systems apply to the meat and fish industry; from coatings with a thickness of 100 µ up to synthetic systems of 10 mm. Prices depend greatly on the size of the surface and the choice of flooring system.

For a 1,000 m² prices range between € 15 per m² for a thin functional coating and € 90 per m² for an exceptionally high quality, state-of-the-art flooring system.
